Here is a neat barn quilt we designed for one of our customers who also allow us to display our bq's at their restaurant, Buck & Jo's Too in Winchester.
One of the co-owner's wanted something with a golfing theme so this is called "Golf Star" and is a 2 footer currently hanging at their business. It has a lot of colors in it and, once again, our camera does not do it justice. The boarder is dark blue and the golf club is dark grey, light grey and black. Stop by, have a great meal and see the barn quilts. Thanks for looking.
Jesus Christ is our pattern for life. "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." John 13:34

BARN QUILTS: BRINGING US TOGETHER!
Here's a great barn quilt story. A customer had us create this "God's Eye" BQ for them this past Fall. They did not get it hung until this Spring. Some friends of theirs who live in Missouri liked it and wants us to make a similar one but in different colors. When we contacted the customer in Mo. to go over details, we discovered that we are related to them! We didn't know anything about them but we do now! We're so excited to get to know them and will meet them this Fall when they pick up their order at the Prairie Land Steam Show in Jacksonville, IL. All because of a barn quilt.
Here's a couple great pictures of the BQ on the customers granary. It's located in Carlinville IL.

4TH OF JULY SPECIAL
Happy Independence Day from Bentley Barn Quilts everyone! Our second President John Adams once wrote to his wife Abigail, “The Second Day of July 1776 will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. . . . It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires, and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”
We had the privilege this holiday of getting to visit with one of our recent customers, the Matt Hubbert family today and see the Mosaic Star that they mounted on their barn. It looks fantastic and so patriotic! If you travel the Merritt blacktop from Bluffs towards Jacksonville, just on the west edge of Merritt, look to your south and you'll see it peering over the corn tassels. It took some imaginative engineering to get it up but they did a great job.
The Hubbert's told us that the barn was built back in the 1920's and, at that time, was the Hawk farm. Thank you to the Hubbert Family! We love the history behind the old barns and barn quilts help keep that history alive, just like celebrating our independence keeps our illustrious history alive.
As our good friend Katie Heaford (Kate's Barn Quilts) mentioned on our Facebook page, this design is also called "Carpenter's Wheel." Many quilt block designs had multiple names and this one included. Some additional names it could be called are: Black Diamond, Diadem Star, Double Star, Knickerbocker Star, Lone Star of Paradise, Star of Bethlehem, Star Quilt Block, Star Within a Star, Sunflower, Twinkling Star and there may even be more. If you make it one primary color then that would give it a whole different set of names. We chose "Mosaic Star" for ours. Thanks for pointing this out Katie!
Be safe and have a wonderful Fourth!

BUILDING A 6 FOOTER
We had the opportunity to make a 6 footer for a new customer recently. Thought we'd show you how the back of the barn quilt looks plus a series of development and the finished product. We were excited about doing this project and it took up most of our small shop.
MAPLE LEAF ON DISPLAY
One of our customers gifted their parents with a 4' "Maple Leaf" and this is it mounted on their home. It looks great and is located just to the south of the Plum Creek Golf Course on I-72.
PORCH QUILTS
We possibly will be adding these "home address quilts" or "Porch Quilts" to our offerings. You can put your name, street number or a greeting below the quilt design and hang them next to your homes front door, or on an inside wall if you like.
We'll be using a vinyl lettering that we can have choices of different fonts and colors. The price will be $45 and they are on 12" x 18" birch boards. The one on the left is called "Father's Choice" and the right one is "Prosperity."
As always, thanks for looking and have a blessed day!

MACOMB BARN QUILTS ON DISPLAY
Here are a couple barn quilts that a customer from Macomb IL. gifted to her mom. This is the Railroad Crossing on the left and Dolly Madison Star on the right overlooking a collection of birdhouse. Thanks Amanda for sending the pic!
